U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and The Nature Conservancy Establish New National Agreement for More Controlled Burning

December 09, 2013 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and The Nature Conservancy (Conservancy) announce a new partnership that will for the first time increase and better coordinate controlled burn activities, also known as prescribed fire, on their respective lands to enhance wildlife values. Southern AZ Working Group Update

Don Decker has Participated in two Cochise County Community Wildfire Protection Plan Planning Meetings in Sierra Vista over the last two months.  The Work Group is contributing to and reviewing a draft version of what will end up being the “Cochise County Community Wildfire Protection Plan”.  The Malpai Borderlands Group (and their Fire Plan) will be referenced in this document.  When this planning effort is complete, it potentially might make areas available for grants that…

We recently viewed the 'Cooperative Burning and Training Exchanges' webinar featuring Jeremy Bailey from the Fire Learning Network, hosted by the SW Fire Science Consortium, to learn the role and processes of prescribed fire Training Exchanges.
