SWFSC/AFE Fire Conference Date: November 28 - December 2, 2016 As part of our Southwestern Regional Conference in November 2016, we are hosting a roundtable discussion to determine and brainstorm solutions to communication issues that arise during wildfires. If the multiple stakeholders involved understand the varied perspectives within a wildfire environment, then better decisions can occur. March 1 Basin and Snowpack Outlook Report

Arizona received very little precipitation and experienced above average temperatures during the month of February.  As a result, the snowpack is now completely melted out at over half (22 of 43) of our snow measurement sites.  In fact, today (March 3) marks the normal peak date for snow water equivalent in AZ.  Whereas, our statewide snowpack is currently below where it was at this time last year.  However, due to wet conditions earlier in the season,…
